Time flies…I cannot believe my last post was at the beginning of the year! My world has changed dramatically in the past several months, including finishing my Ph.D. and moving to a new city for a new job
Heard about SparkPeople.com from one of my dissertation interview participants and thought I would give it a try myself. So today marks the official new start of a new chapter in my life, part of which I have decided to change this public blog from simply healthy cooking and dining to a wellness journal. I know some of my research collaborators would smile at this point as this is such a perfect reflection of my current work (digital communication for health promotion and social change). And by posting this note, I have become committed to my own well-being….and my goal is to do at least one thing (no matter how small) a day to improve the wellness of myself and those around me.
So what I did today includes making myself a fresh mixed veggie salad (with all my favorites such as avocado, blueberries, pumpkin seeds) alongside a multi-grain porridge and sharing a wonderful article about happiness and the myth of pursuing the so-called happiness state of mind (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-judith-rich/happiness-its-overrated_b_685851.html).
